Henry Johnson

Funeral services for Henry Johnson, 53, of Decatur County, Ga., were held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Pilgram Rest Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Adolph Noble officiating.
Interment followed at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with David Harper III, Derrick Johnson, Lester Porter, Anthony Johnson, Michael Johnson and Terrance Killing serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Tyrone Bush, Willie Johnson, Eugene Smith, Robert Earl Howard, Arthur Parrish and Jerry Smart.
Born Nov. 28, 1955, in Decatur County, Mr. Johnson attended Hutto High School. He left Bainbridge in 1977 for Chicago, Ill., where he worked for the Salvation Army for 20 years until 1999, when he retired and returned home to Bainbridge.
He is survived by a son, Rodney Edwards; a brother, Willie Johnson; eight sisters, Allie Mae Jenkins, Eva Mae Johnson, Geraldine Carlton, Bertha Johnson, Marion Bush and Leatha Johnson, all of Bainbridge, and Linda Davis Sims and Mary Sims, both of Atlanta; five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
