Graveside services for S.T. Cook, 80, of Daleville, Ala., were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Oak City Cemetery with the Rev. Stan Bray and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating.
Born on April 29, 1928 in Clearwater, Fla., Mr. Cook died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at his residence.
He graduated from Bogart, Ga., High School in 1945 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an aircraft mechanic with Southern Airways, Bell Helicopter and retired from management with Northrop Grumman Corp. at Fort Rucker, Ala. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Bray Cook.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda McDowell and her husband, James, of Bainbridge; his grandson, Jeff A. McDowell of Dothan, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge was in charge of arrangements.
