Funeral services for Betty Burke Smith, 69, of Donalsonville, Ga., was held on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating.

Interment followed in Friendship Cemetery with Aaron Williams, Michael Ready, Daniel Bernard, Alton Harrison, Kevin O’Hearn and Nevan O’Hearn serving as active pallbearers.

Born in Seminole County, Mrs. Smith died Friday, Jan. 2, at Donalsonville Hospital. She worked for a number of years as a cashier and cook. Mrs. Smith attended the Donalsonville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jackson Smith; two sons, Terry Smith and Pebo Smith; a brother, Lamar “Hot Shot” Burke, and a sister, Rudy Doris Harlow.

She is survived by a son, Jackie L. Smith of Lakeland, Fla.; a daughter, Jenny S. Enfinger of Donalsonville, Ga.; a brother, Ladon Burke of Iron City, Ga.; a special friend, Shirley Moulton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
