As we prepare for the special day tomorrow—with presents under the tree and a plate full of food—some members of this community have again shined by showing their unselfish generosity.
From the seventh- and eighth-graders at West Bainbridge Middle School who turned over their pizza money to the food bank, to 9-year-old Ryan Adam, who sold hot cocoa in order to help a needy family, there are those who remember the reason for the season.
We have been reminded throughout December why Decatur County and its people are special—the Toys for Tots drives, the collection of food for the local food bank and other organized and random acts of kindness that reassure us that yes, there is a Santa Claus in each of our hearts.
