John Pritzl

Funeral service for John C. Pritzl, 80, of Bainbridge, were held on Monday, Dec. 22, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen L. Webb and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating.

Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Oscar Dewberry, Bill Holt, Turner Barber, Bruce Kirbo Jr., A. “Skeet” Olive, Larry Kelley, Greg Burch and John Watts serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Pritzl was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wis. He died Saturday, Dec. 20, at his residence.

The son of John Pritzl and Anna Maria Dobner Pritzl, he graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee, Wis., attended the University of Wisconsin, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the retired chief design engineer for Miller-Hydro Company and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Bainbridge Kiwanis Club.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Pritzl.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Calista Mock Pritzl of Bainbridge, Ga.; his son, Karl Pritzl of Tallahassee, Fla.; his daughters, Karen Pritzl and Anna P. Smith, both of Tallahassee, Fla., and Alice P. Malone of Havana, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
