The City of Bainbridge is re-designing its official Web site, www.bainbridgecity.com, to better serve residents and visitors, a spokesperson said.

Goals for the new Web site include being more user-friendly, provide more online payment services and highlight area shopping and attractions, said Paige Robinson, the city’s communications director.

City Court citations can already be paid online, an alternative to paying in person at City Hall. The new Web site will offer the ability to pay other city invoices, including water, sewer and waste pickup, Robinson said.

Information gathered by the city’s Main Street and Tourism Department, currently available on www.bainbridgemainstreet.com, will be integrated with the city’s main Web site. Robinson said she believes visitors to Bainbridge as well as newcomers will be able to quickly find information about shops, services and upcoming events.

The city is currently working on the re-design with eGov Strategies, an Indianapolis, Ind., company that specializes in developing government Web sites. Robinson said city officials hope to put the re-design online in early 2009.
