Funeral services for Gerald Wells, 80, of Bainbridge, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, will be Saturday, Dec. 13, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery with Corey Wells, Brad Wells, Jody Wells, Steven Wells, Bert Poitevint and Tommy Whigham serving as active pallbearers.

Born on Oct. 10, 1928, in Climax, Ga., Mr. Wells died at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. He was a graduate of Faceville High School, Class of 1945, and retired with more than 35 years of service with Stone’s. He was a former member of Sylvania Methodist Church and was most recently a member of Faceville Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Wells and Pete Wells, and his sister, Jimmie Lou Tucker.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Florene Wells; his son, Tony Wells of Bainbridge, Ga.; his daughter, Debra Lane of Donalsonville, Ga.; his brother, Rudolph Wells of Albany, Ga.; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
