Funeral services for Kathleen Rachel Dyess, 88, of Colquitt, Ga., were held Sunday, Dec. 7, at Pleasant View Church of God Cemetery near Damascus, Ga., with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating.

Mrs. Dyess died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.

Born on Feb. 24, 1920, in Damascus, Ga., Mrs. Dyess was retired from Thompson Industries and was a member of Pleasant View Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lee Givens and Alfred L. Dyess; her son, Willie R. Givens; her daughter, Belinda Faye Day; and her brother, Buddy Rachel.

Survivors include her son, James Arthur Givens of Albany, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ivey Funeral Home.
