Funeral services for Andrew J. Godfrey, 81, who died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, were held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron McCaskill officiating.

Interment followed at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga., with Espy Gray, Fred Brackin, Dave Roberts, Brad Clarke, Mark Hanna and Lonnie Alday serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church in Donalsonville.

Born on Jan. 7, 1927, in Houston County, Ala., Mr. Godfrey served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Three Notch Electric after working there for 48 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Godfrey of Donalsonville, Ga.; three sons, Jeff Godfrey of Tallahassee, Fla., Todd Godfrey and Ferrell Godfrey, both of Donalsonville, and a sister, Betty Kelley of Bainbridge, Ga.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
