Funeral services for Frankie Boyett Bowen, 48, of Climax will be Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m. at Climax Baptist Church.
Internment will follow at Pigsah Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Jimmy Weaver and Steve Poppell officiating. Active pallbearers will be James Brock, Charles Harrell, David Bowen, Pat Gillespie, Kent Bowen, Danny Harrison and Bobby Harrell.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Climax Baptist Church.
Born Sept. 9, 1960, in Decatur County, Ga., Mrs. Bowen died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Ga. A lifelong Decatur County resident, Bowen was a paraprofessional at Potter Street Elementary School in Bainbridge and a member of the Living Hope Faith Center in Cairo, Ga. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge College, where she was on the national dean’s list and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Bowen was preceded in death by her father, the late W.F. “Franklin” Bowen.
Bowen’s survivors include her mother, Christine Barber Boyett; her husband, Dennis Bowen of Climax, Ga.; and two sons, Frank Bowen of Atlanta, Ga., and Preston Bowen of Albany, Ga.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home in Bainbridge is in charge of arrangements.
