Spurgeon Campbell Sr.

Funeral services for Spurgeon Campbell Sr., 62, of Fowlstown, Ga., were held Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, Fowlstown, with the Rev. Edward Greer officiating.
Interment followed in St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Attapulgus with Andre Carter, Mitchell Murrell, Randall Close, Hilton Phillips, Kiarion Knight and Willie Smart Jr. serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Marcus Bass, Gregory Campbell, John Warren Jr. and Spurgeon Campbell Jr.
Mr. Campbell was born in Attapulgus, Ga., and died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.
He received his education in Decatur County, Ga., and was a member of St. Thomas M.B. Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anissa Washington.
He is survived by three daughters, Stephanie McAllister, Demecrious Campbell and Lenora Campbell; three sons, Spurgeon Campbell Jr., Marcus Bass and Gregory Campbell; four sisters, Carrie Lee Watson of Palm Beach , Fla., Brenda Breedlove and Gloria Phillips, both of Bainbridge, and Daisy Campbell of Albany, Ga.; three brothers, John Campbell, Jesse Campbell, both of Attapulgus, and Tyrone Campbell of Albany; eight grandchildren and other relatives.
Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
