Family Reading and Math Night
Jones-Wheat Elementary School hosted a Family Reading and Math Night on Nov. 18. Students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade enjoyed participating in reading and math activities with their family members. The purpose of Family Night is to inform parents on different technology software programs and teaching strategies to improve reading and math based on the Georgia Performance Standards. Many students and their families enjoyed reading books, taking accelerated reader tests, utilizing math software programs, playing fun math board games and making math flash cards. Hot dogs, chips and drinks were prepared by JWE staff and the Bainbridge High School Interact Club helped serve approximately 400 people.
