The early voting period for a Dec. 2 runoff election will begin soon, Chief of Elections Doris White said.
Absentee ballots may be cast in person without a reason at the Board of Elections office on Thursday, Nov. 20, and Friday, Nov. 21, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Advance voting will take place at the Board of Elections next Monday, Nov. 24, through Wednesday, Nov. 26, between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voting will be conducted at normal polling places on Dec. 2. The ballot will include runoffs for the U.S. Senate seat held by Saxby Chambliss, with Republican Chambliss opposed by Democrat Jim Martin, and the non-partisan Georgia Court of Appeals seat currently held by John H. Ruffin, Jr. Runoff candidates will be Sara Doyle and Mike Sheffield.
The Board of Elections office is located on the lower floor of the Decatur County Courthouse Annex at the intersection of Water and Crawford streets in downtown Bainbridge.
