Ruth Coxwell

Funeral services for Ruth Meggs Coxwell, 72, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Bostick officiating.

Interment followed in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with Allen Glisson, Andy Glisson, Bill Lewis, Dick Lay, Brian Powell and Donnie Carlton serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Coxwell was born in Blountstown, Fla., the daughter of James Claudie Bryant and Lillie Mae Henderson Bryant, and died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at her residence.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Coxwell of Bainbridge; four sons, Fredrick “Ricky” Pheasant and his wife, Rebecca, of Senatobia, Miss., Neal Meggs and his wife, Rose, Steve Meggs and his wife, Nancy, and Tracy Meggs and his wife, Amanda, all of Bainbridge; two daughters, Leesa Stevens and her husband, Geary, and Dyann Howell and her husband, David, all of Bainbridge; her brother, James Bryant of Pueblo, Colo.; two sisters, Johnnie Mae McCollum of Blountstown, Fla., and Vickie Trussel of Tallahassee, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Rita Pheasant Mize, Cody Meggs, Dwight Meggs, Mollie Meggs, Doug Stevens, Tiffanie Stevens, Glee Powell and Michael Singletary and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
