Funeral services for Doris Canon, 84, of Lee County, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with the Rev. Garrett Andrew officiating.

Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. 

A native of Franklin, Ga., Mrs. Canon died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at her residence.

She had lived in Lee County for the past 40 years. In 1989 after 14 years of service, she retired from Merck Chemicals where she worked as the factory clerk. She was a Presbyterian.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Canon of Lee County; two daughters, Janis Canon of Traverse City, Mich., and Delores Canon of Albany, Ga.; two brothers, William Langley and his wife, Georgia, of Sylvester, Ga., and Theron Langley and his wife, Doris, of Hampton, Ga.; and one sister, Irelle Lane and her husband, Charles, of Colquitt, Ga.; three grandchildren, Mary Katherine Gordon and her husband, David, of Alexander City, Ala., Cameron Heard and his wife, Kuei-ling, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and David L. Creamer of Albany; two great-grandchildren, David Railey Gordon Jr., and Grace Ellen Heard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
