Grace Christian Academy second graders have been studying vertebrates as part of Purposeful Design Science and in order to learn more about them, students created models of their favorite vertebrate using their choice of materials. Students had a clay horse, a Rice Krispie Rattlesnake, a Playdoh Hammerhead shark, a brownie gecko, and a cardboard Tiger shark, among others. As part of their research report students also had to classify their vertebrate as a fish, bird, mammal, reptile, or amphibian, tell why it fell into this classification, and share something unique about it.
