Your Chamber, along with the Leadership Decatur County Program, will be sponsoring the 11th Annual Youth Leadership Program this January.

The Youth Leadership Steering Committee, chaired by Greg McDonald, is now taking applications for this program. Nominees must be a sophomore or junior at either Bainbridge High School or Grace Christian Academy.

The Decatur County Youth Leadership Program is designed to develop leadership skills, offer interaction opportunities in our county, and increase awareness of community issues, needs and resources.

Participants will be expected to attend an overnight retreat along with six additional classes designed by the Fanning Leadership Center. The class will have the opportunity to meet and learn all about our local government, health care and other related services.

They will also be offered a trip to Atlanta during the legislative session and have an opportunity to tour one of our local industries.

The classes usually meet on Monday evenings at Bainbridge College.

Deadline for nominations is Friday, Nov. 7.
