The Decatur County Sheriff’s office has arrested Demarquis Glenn, 24, in connection with the murder of Quentieria Knight that occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, April 28 and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29.

“There was a bunch of employees that seen him leave with her from the crate factory Thursday night,” DCSO Investigator Jason Williams said. “With him being the last person with her, that’s the first place we started.”

Williams confirmed that Glenn was picked up at Elberta Crate , where him and Knight were both employed, around 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon and taken for questioning. After interviewing Glenn, DCSO officers charged him with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to Williams, the two had just started working together at Elberta Crate and it is believed that Glenn asked Knight for a ride home on Thursday, which led them to be in her car together.

Knight was found deceased in her car with multiple gunshot wounds early Friday morning after a citizen called in a suspicious car idling with its lights on, half in the road and half in the grass on Zorn Road near Highway 27 North.

According to Williams, DCSO investigators have recovered a weapon and it has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations for ballistic testing. The gun will be compared to evidence found at the scene to determine if it was in fact the murder weapon.

Williams said that a motive for the murder has not been determined at this time and he asks any citizens who may have additional information to call him at 229-400-8016.

Friday update:

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a homicide that occurred on Zorn Road/Highway 27 North according to Sheriff Wiley Griffin.

He confirmed that the victim of the homicide was 22-year old Quentieria Knight. Griffin said that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

The homicide is believed to have happened between the hours of 11 p.m. Thursday night and 5 a.m. Friday morning.

DCSO received the initial report at 4:32 a.m. that a suspicious car was sitting on Zorn Road near the intersection with Highway 27 North. The caller stated that the car had been “sitting in the roadway with the lights on for over thirty-five minutes.”

Investigators arrived at the scene and began investigating it as a homicide. DCSO and GBI crime labs both worked the scene before transferring the victim to the GBI crime lab for further investigation.

According to Griffin, Knight was discovered in her car, a small four-door Sedan, which had come to rest half in the road and half in the grass on Zorn Road.

Investigator Robert Humphrey, who is working the case, said that they are continuing to interview people and that the investigation is ongoing. DCSO has asked that any citizens with information or who saw Knight’s car in the area Thursday night to call Humphrey at 229-400-8012 or Investigator Jason Williams at 229-400-8016.
