Betty Jo Shepard, 62, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver, Washington. A private service will be held in Vancouver.

Betty Jo was born July 26, 1952 in Blakely, Georgia, the daughter of Elbert Bowen Shepard and Ruth Brackin Shepard. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1970, and worked at T.G.&Y. and American Lighting Company. Betty Jo was baptized at age 12 at West Street Baptist and helped many choose that path over the years. She moved to Vancouver, in 1991 where she was a member of Crossroads Community Church.

Survivors include her companion, Michael “Mick” English of Vancouver; her brother, David Shepard and his wife, Carolyn, of Bainbridge; her sisters, Terry S. Bell and her husband, Benny, of Bainbridge, and Deborah Shepard of Bainbridge; her nephews, Brad Shepard and George Fields; her nieces, Scarlet Bell Harrell and Myra Bell Thompson; her great-nephews, Lance Wade, Bowen Fields, Bowen Dodson, Dawson Hale, and Ray Dodson; and her great-niece, Anna Fields. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Shepard, and her sister, Linda S. Fields.
