Bainbridge Public Safety made several arrests this week in relation to possession and potential distribution of MDMA, or Molly.

Thursday evening, BPS officers identified a potential suspect and located the vehicle the suspect was believed to be in. Officers begin following the burgundy Dodge Charger, when the driver began to evade the officers and committed a traffic violation.

During a traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and searched the Charger, BPS investigator Mark Esquivel said.

Esquivel said that all three passengers were charged with possession of a schedule II substance.

Datavius Rashad Harper, 23, of Bainbridge, was arrested and charged with controlled substance – possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute (felony).

Raven Symone Harper, 22, of Bainbridge, was arrested and charged with controlled substance – possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute (felony) and controlled substance – possession of marijuana.

Earlier this week, another Bainbridge man was found in possession of Molly.

Esquivel said that Molly has picked up in recent years after popularization via songs and celebrity culture.

“It’s cheaper than cocaine,” Esquivel said. “It gets mentioned a lot in songs, so people want to try it because it’s cheap. It’s pretty bad right now.”
