Former Bainbridge High School Bearcats All Region 1AAAAA defensive back Dontavious Baulkman won a conference championship and captured a bowl victory this past season at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona.

His Arizona Western Junior College Matadors team, which plays in the Western State Junior College Football Conference, won the conference championship and went on to defeat the Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes in the El Toro Boll.

As a Bearcats senior in 2012, Baulkman, who is the son of Monika Baulkman and James Williams, made first team All Region 1AAAAA and led the team in tackles with 93, 59 solo and 34 assisted. His step father is Gordon Green.

Baulkman said the former Bearcats head coach Ed Pilcer, who he played for, prepared him well for the college game.

“Coach Pilcher coached the secondary himself and taught me a lot of coverage and tackling skills that I still use,” he said. “In the El Toro Bowl I made the final tackle to preserve the victory.”

“The competition is very strong in our conference, so a good high school background is needed to be successful.”

Following his senior high school season Bauchman played in the Southwest Georgia, North Florida All Star game at Thomas County Central’s Jackets Nest Stadium.
