Two fatalities in tragic Climax accident

A vehicle accident on Highway 84 resulted in two fatalities at approximately 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Heather Barlow, 35, was pulling out of Bert Phillips Road in Climax when a tractor-trailer struck her car on the passenger’s side.

Barlow and her 10-year-old daughter, who occupied the passenger seat, passed away at the scene of the accident, according to Georgia State Patrol Assistant Post Commander Corporal Jones.

Barlow’s 5-year-old daughter was occupying a child’s seat in the backseat of the car at the time of the accident. She was injured and flown to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and was released at the scene of the accident, Jones said.
