Grace Christian Academy to host ‘Duck Dynasty’ family membersPublished 9:14pm Friday, July 12, 2013
Grace Christian Academy is beginning a new annual event in September this year, and they’re bringing in some celebrities to help start the event with a bang.
The event will be called “The Follow” and it is set for Sunday, Sept. 8, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Bainbridge State College Student Wellness Center, located at 2500 E. Shotwell St. in Bainbridge. The special guests for this year are Jase and Missy Robertson, who are members of the family featured on A&E’s Duck Dynasty.
Tickets will begin going on sale Wednesday, July 17, and can only be purchased online at gcathefollow.ticketleap.com/gcacougarsevent.
Duck Dynasty is a reality television series that airs on A&E, and documents the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy through their Duck Commander business. Their business, which is headquartered in West Monroe, La., makes products for duck hunters, including the Duck Commander duck call.
Jason Silas “Jase” Robertson is the brother of company CEO Willie Jess Robertson. Jase Robertson is in charge of the manufacturing division of Duck Commander, ensuring that every call is hand-tuned, often by doing the tuning himself.
Missy Robertson is Jase’s wife, and she assists with the formation of the Duck Commander women’s line. She and Jase have been married for 22 years and they have three children, 17-year-old Reed, 15-year-old Cole and 9-year-old Mia. The family lives in West Monroe.
Cile Warr, director of development at Grace Christian Academy, said that the name of the new annual event is inspired by Matthew 16:24, which says, “If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
