The Decatur County Genealogical Society, Inc. will meet at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1510 W. Longleaf Dr. The program is aimed at helping those who want to learn how to begin researching their family histories.

 

Sunday, July 14

• Beulah Thomas Baptist Church, located on Woodhull Road (off Hwy. 27 S.) will have a Homecoming celebration with the Rev. Joshua Rathel of Flat Creek Baptist Church as guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service. Dinner on the grounds and special music will follow.

St. Stephen M.B. Church, located at 156 Miss Ann’s Lane in Whigham, will have a Women’s Day celebration at 3 p.m. Sister Emma Crump-Cooper of St. Mark M.B. Church of Mitchell County, will be the featured speaker. Dinner will be served following the service.

Second Elizabeth M.B. Church, located at 2718 Attapulgus Hwy., Quincy, will have a “Team Spirit” Youth service at 11 a.m. Those attending are asked to wear their favorite collegiate gear.

•  First African Baptist Church, located at 115 Church St., West Bainbridge, will conclude its 110th anniversary celebration at the 11 a.m. service with Rev. Henry Flowers III preaching. Dinner will be served.

•  Greater St. Mark M.B. Church, located at 1532 Hwy. 311, Camilla, will hold the 2nd annual Dorothy Mae Gaines Scholarship program at 11 a.m. with Dr. Emantavius Williams of Camilla as guest motivational speaker. Educators and parents from Decatur and Mitchell County are invited to support the scholarship program, which helps fund scholarships for deserving students in both counties.

 

Monday, July 15

St. Mark M.B. Church, located at Hwy. 311 East River Road, Camilla, will begin a Revival that runs through the 17th at 7:30 p.m. nighty, with Rev. Johnny Kegler as guest minister.

Travelers Rest M.B. Church, located at 661 Cal Thomas Road, Whigham, will begin a revival that runs through the 19th at 7 p.m. nightly, with Rev. Delliese Cox in charge.

Saint Stephen M.B. Church, located at 156 Miss Ann’s Lane, Whigham, will begin a Revival that runs through the 19th at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Bernard Sales of Boston, Ga., formerly of Decatur County, will lead the services.

 

Tuesday, July 16

• Registration for new students and elementary students who have changed residential zones, all Decatur County schools, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (through Thursday, July 18 registration times on Friday, July 19 are from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

 

Wednesday, July 17

• Faith Life Ministries Church, located at 335 Colquitt Hwy., Eldorendo, will begin a Revival that runs through the 19th at :30 p.m. nightly, with Pastor E. Flanders leading the services.

 

Saturday, July 20

• Prophetic Kingdom Ministries, located at 1610 Old Quincy Road, Bainbridge, will host the 2013 Breaking the Chains Conference beginning at 6:30 p.m. with Prophet Patrick Cleveland of Valdosta leading the service.

 

Sunday, July 21

Bethel A.M.E. Church, located at 207 N. Griffin Ave., Attapulgus, will have its Missionary anniversary at 3 p.m. on the theme, “Women in White Serving Others.” Speaker will be Melody Hill.

 

Monday, July 22
