Clarification on wreck article

An article in the June 12, 2013, issue of The Post-Searchlight about a fatal wreck on State Route 97 South contained information from the Georgia State Patrol’s accident report, which has since been amended.

The article stated that neither of the drivers involved in the accident — 16-year-old Joshua Wilder of Quincy, Fla., and 16-year-old Tyler Braswell of Bainbridge — were wearing their seat belts. Wilder passed away after the accident.

Earlier this month, the GSP post in Colquitt, Ga., released an amended accident report, which now states that Wilder was wearing his lap and shoulder seat belts. The amended report now lists that Braswell used “other” restraint systems. According to Braswell family members, he was wearing his lap seat belt at the time of the accident.
