Special to The Post-Searchlight

October is breast cancer awareness month, and the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA wants to do its part in raising awareness and raising funds for breast cancer research.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, the YMCA will be hosting the first ever Zumbathon “Party in Pink” Movin’ to End Breast Cancer.

Join us at the YMCA for a Party in Pink Zumbathon charity event benefitting the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Beginning at 8 a.m., the YMCA will be movin’ and groovin’ for two hours.

Joanie Williams will be leading participants through all types of world rhythms. Easy to follow cues will have even novices moving like a pro. It’s fun, it’s a work out, and — best of all — it benefits breast cancer research. Tickets are only $5.

Local businesses have donated some fun door prizes and Zumba Party in Pink t-shirts will be for on sale for $15. At least 75 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Put on your pink and come on out to dance for fun, dance for fitness, and dance to help end breast cancer. To make a donation, donate a door prize, or for any other information, call Joanie Williams at (229) 205-4331.

Tickets can be purchased from any YMCA Zumba member or at the YMCA front desk.
