True Wisdom New Hope Ministries — A new church, being started in the Bainbridge community, will hold weekly Bible studies on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., at the YMCA Children’s Building, located behind the Y. The speaker is Elder Barry Nicholson. The overseer is Bishop James Lorenzo Rutledge.

First African Baptist Church — The church, located at 115 Church St. in West Bainbridge, will hold a “Men of Purpose” workshop on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Rev. Alexander Mack, pastor of Mt. Calvary M.B. Church, in Cairo, Ga., will be the instructor on the theme of “Roles and Issues of Black Men in the Church.” Lunch will be served.

• Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church — The church, located at 849 Martin Luther King Drive, along with Union M.B. Church, Macedonia M.B. Church, Lamb’s Temple of God, Guyton Brothers Funeral Home, Norris Car Wash and Anthony’s One Stop Barbecue, will have a “Back to School Bash” on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be food, fun, music and free school supplies. This will be located in the housing projects’ parking lot behind Pilgrim Rest Church.

• Emanuel M.B. Church — The church, located at 161 Emanuel Church Road, in Fowlstown, will hold a “Men, Women and Youth Day” celebration immediately following the morning worship on Aug. 12, with Rev. Henry L. Flowers III of First African M.B. Church of West Bainbridge leading the service. The theme will be “Men, Women, Youth Moving Forward for Christ in the 21st Century.”

Antioch Baptist Church — The church, located at 2030 Antioch Church Road, in Climax, will have its pastor’s homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Jerry “Tater” Harrell. Lunch on the grounds will follow the service.

Faith Life Ministries—The church, located at 335 Colquitt Highway, in Eldorendo, will observe Deacon’s Day on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m., with Pastor J.A. Severson speaking. Dinner will be served. A special service of appreciation for Deacon Curtis Burke Sr. will be held Friday, Aug. 17, at 7:30 p.m. All area choirs, soloists and praise teams are invited to participate.

Greater Macedonia M.B. Church — The church, located at 1006 Holly St., will conclude its 130th anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Willie G. Smiley and St. Thomas M.B. Church, of Fowlstown, as guests.

Liberty Baptist Church — The church, located at 2909 Vada Road, will have a revival Aug. 12-15, with Rev. Brian Hatchett of Calvary Baptist Church leading the services.

Elizabeth A.M.E. Church — The church, located in Chattahoochee, Fla., will conclude its three days of services to celebrate Pastor Rev. Leonard Davis’ third-year anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. (Eastern Time).

Disciples of Jesus Ministries — The church, located at 1630 Bethel Road, will conclude its ushers’ anniversary celebration on Aug. 11, at 11:30 a.m., with Evangelist Mildred Bundage, of Pensacola, Fla.

New Salem Free Will Baptist Church — The church, located at 2574 Spring Creek Road, will have a benefit program for Minister Melba Andrews, co-pastor of the church, on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 3:30 p.m.

St. Stephens A.M.E. Church — The church, located 1091 at Hutchinson Ferry Road, will hold its annual church revival on Aug. 16 and Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., with Rev. Beverly Griffin of Emanuel M.E. Church, in Dixie, Ga., leading the services.

Immanuel Baptist Church — The church, located on U.S. Highway 84 West, will have a fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 18, beginning at 5 p.m. There will be a silent auction, fish plates and door prizes, followed by a gospel sing featuring Kevin and Rebecca Kearns and others.

Attapulgus Baptist Church — The church, located behind the post office in Attapulgus, will celebrate its 84th annual homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 19, beginning at 10:45 a.m., with Rev. Pleas Vause as guest speaker for the morning worship, and Mr. Keith Medley as worship and song leader. There will be special music and a covered dish luncheon, following the service.

Lake Seminole Baptist Church — The church, located at 2990 Burke Road, in Donalsonville, Ga., will host a revival, from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22. The Sunday morning service is at 11 a.m. and evening services are at 7 p.m. The evangelist is Rev. Stanley Phillips, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, of Colquitt, Ga. The worship leader is Brother Greg Beaty.

Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church — The church, located at 1810 S. West St., will observe its annual “Men and Women Day” on Aug. 26, at 11:15 a.m.

E.D.E.N. International Ministries, Inc. — The church, located at 2550 Old Whigham Road, will hold a Birthing Experience Summit 2012, “Positioned and Ready to Deliver,” on Sept. 6-9. Time to be announced.
