Alfred Earl Hester, Jr, (Bubber), born January 5, 1934, died January 28, 2025, in Climax, Georgia at the age of 91.
After graduating from Climax High School, Mr. Hester attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia in
1956. Upon Mr. Hester’s service in the U.S. Army, based in Texas, he returned home to Climax, and worked briefly at the Cagle Company in Camilla, Georgia, and Climax Milling Company, before he began farming fulltime. Upon his retirement from farming, he was employed as an Enumerator by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Hester is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Williams Hester, his son, Alfred Earl (Al) Hester, III (Patty), daughter, Jill Hester Clark (Phillip) and son, James Wendell
Hester (Kristy, deceased), all of Climax, and grandchildren, Brandie Hester, Alfred Earl Hester, IV (Allen), both of Climax, and Chelsea Clark of Tallahassee. Mr. Hester is also
survived by great-grandchildren, MaryAnn Hester, Nichole Hester and Joshua Hester, all of Climax. Mr. Hester is also survived by sisters Carole Hester Gibbs of TyTy, Georgia, Betty Hester McGlamery and Sandra Hester Gee (Charles), all of Climax, and numerous nieces and nephews.
