Last Tuesday, Grace Christian Academy (GCA) hosted Winterfest.
Winterfest started over 26 years ago and it continues to be GCA’s biggest and longest annual fundraiser. The proceeds are used to help renovate areas in the school, purchase buses, playground equipment, and other items that are necessary for a student’s education.
The event’s success is sponsored by numerous generosity of: First State Bank of Georgia; Avery Crop Insurance; Crop Risk Management Specialists; Wholesale Battery; Tire and Auto; First Franklin Financial; and many more.
Held on school grounds in the gym, this year’s Winterfest featured games, rides, food trucks like Travelin ‘Tom’s Coffee, Famous Tacos, and Smokin’ Moe’s BBQ Wings. The event also featured a jewelry treasure chest, student art displays, and a silent and live auction event. With 300 silent auction items featured and 10 amazing live auction items, there was something for everyone to bid and enjoy. Adding to the festivities, 1st-5th grade students sang Christmas carols with a crowd of people watching their performance.
Lindsay Myers, PR/Mktg Director and Winterfest Coordinator, expressed thanks and gratitude by stating, “The committee, staff and parent volunteers worked tirelessly in the month/s leading up to Winterfest to create an overall pleasurable experience for our guests and families.” She continued. “We are incredibly thankful to our event sponsors, auction donors, volunteers and all who make the event come to fruition. Our goal is spreading Jesus’s love and the Christmas spirit during this most special season. Merry Christmas!”
