Sunday morning, a Bainbridge resident went missing.
Jerry Dooling, an 85-year-old man was last seen at the S&P Truckstop on Veteran’s Day. According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, he was driving a black 2021 Honda Pilot with Georgia tag EMH232.
Timothy Dooling, Jerry’s son, stated he last spoke to his father on October 11 at the S&P Truckstop. Timothy stated, “The police computer documented his car heading over the Florida line area around 3:00 AM,” which Timothy stated was “confusing” because his father “would go to bed as early as 9:00 AM, and he wouldn’t be up so early.” Timothy explained that even though his father is older, he does not have any mental health problems that would cause him to leave. “He has short-term memory problems, but he’s not incapacitated. He got up to Chicago three weeks ago on his own. He’s in his right mind; he’s just probably disoriented.” Timothy explained that his father is currently on blood thinners/blood pressure medicine.
If anyone has heard anything about Jerry’s whereabouts or locates him please call 911 or investigator Sgt. Gabriel Cofer at (229) 400-8014. Timothy is very concerned about his father and he wishes to find and bring him back home safe and sound.
