Hello! My name is Mahalia Grier. I also go by Lia. I am originally from Blakely, Georgia. It’s a small town known as the “Peanut Capital of the World”. I have lived in small towns my entire life, so I am accustom to southern small town life. I graduated from Early County High School in 2017, and I graduated from Albany State University with my bachelor’s degree in English in fall semester of 2023. During my college semesters, I achieved a certificate in Technical Writing. I am also pursuing a Proposal and Grant writing certificate. My writing experience consists of academic, article, and content writing, and proofreading. I dabbled in marketing, coding, and web design, but it’s not enough to write home about. I enjoy reading mystery, horror, and adventure books. I don’t have a favorite author, but my favorite book is called This House is Haunted by John Boyne. It’s a gothic-historical fiction novel about a governess named Eliza Cane who embarks on a fearful journey at Gaudlin Hall. I write because I want to grow and learn my potential.
“I write entirely to find out
What I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.”
Joan Didion
