On Monday afternoon, Decatur County Sheriff’s officers were dispatched to Silver Lake Road in response to a reported domestic. Upon arrival, officers arrested the offender, Seminole County Sheriff officer Lieutenant Craig Carr. According to the incident report, Carr had gotten into an argument with his estranged significant other. The argument escalated to physical violence, with Carr allegedly choking the victim at one point. At some point during the confrontation, Carr drew his gun and held it to his head, contemplating suicide, before shooting a hole through the floor instead. He was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with aggravated assault, interfering with calls for emergency assistance, and terroristic threats and acts.

As of the writing of this article, he is being held at the Decatur County Jail while awaiting his bond hearing. Following the incident, per the Donalsonville News, Carr was suspended from his position at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office without pay and had his employment terminated.
