Ida Lou “Dumpy” White, 102, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023.

Ida Lou Cloud was born January 19, 1921, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Reuben & Vada Strickland Cloud. She attended Decatur County Schools. “Dumpy” married George White and they made their home in Bainbridge. She was Baptist by faith.

“Dumpy” spent many years caring for others in their homes. Crocheting was her passion and her love language. She could create anything with yarn and made sure those she loved and cared for had a token to remind them. “Dumpy” spent hours working in her vegetable garden and enjoyed sharing her bounty.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Smith Lasseter of Norman Park and Janice Smith Phelps and her husband, King, of Albany, and many nieces and nephews. “Dumpy” was preceded in death by her husband, George White; her parents, Reuben M. Cloud, Sr. and Vada Strickland Hayes; and her brothers, Emil “Promise” Cloud and Reuben M. “Buddy” Cloud, Jr.

The White Family extends their sincere gratitude to Bainbridge Healthcare Staff and Gentiva Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
