Two serious accidents occurred yesterday afternoon on Shotwell Street. One involved two vehicles, a small white car and a large SUV. According to BPS officer Luke McConnell, the SUV was turning in to the Dairy Queen parking lot, when the car, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, hit the SUV, flipping it. The car driver and all five occupants of the SUV were taken to Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

Just down the road from the Dairy Queen wreck, another accident occurred, although of a much different nature. According to BPS, an unidentified man was riding in the back of a truck, attempting to hold furniture being moved in place, when one of the pieces reportedly blew out the back of the truck, taking the man with it. The man was life-flighted from the Boat Basin to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

The current condition of all involved is currently unknown.
