Funeral Services for Rufus Ouzts, 86, of Cairo Will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 3:00PM at Union Hill Church. Rev. Stacy Glover will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Glover, Adam Glover, Brian Harrell, Lamar Gilliard, Cayden Harrell and Stance Connell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mack Rosencrantz, JL Rosencrantz, Randy Holton, Leon Davis, and Charlie Norton. He was a member at Midway Church, retired farmer and Project Engineer with the Georgia Dept. of Transportation. Born December 1, 1936 in Cairo he was the son of the late James William, Sr. and Annie Mae MIller Ouzts. Mr. Ouzts passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Gilliard Ouzts of Cairo; son, Caylor Ouzts (Donna) of Cairo; grandchildren, Kayla Gainous (Joel) and Kimber Ouzts; a great grandchild, Kody Marie Gainous and sister, Wylene Harrison (Larry) and a sister-in-law, Jeananne Ouzts. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, AJ Ouzts, Junior Ouzts, Leroy Ouzts, Gene Ouzts, Kathryn Drew and Hilda Ouzts. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday an hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Southwest GA, 114 Mimosa Drive A, Thomasville, GA  31792   Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home, Pelham.
