Robert E. Starling, 72, of Climax, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Rev. David Grubbs officiating.

Robert Earl Starling was born August 29, 1950, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of James Earl & Clara Clark Starling. He attended West Bainbridge High School and later earned an associate degree. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was Pentecostal by faith.

Robert had a dry sense of humor. Wisecracks came easily, and he tried hard not to smile when he knew he had gotten the best of you. He enjoyed fishing and found that cooking for others made it even better. Robert owned a seafood restaurant where many tall tales were told and memories made over a fish platter.

Survivors include his children, Marsha Rebecca Clinton (Earl) of Lake Seminole, and Victoria Faith Starling of Grants Pass, Ore.; his granddaughter, Sophia; and his sister, Patricia Ann Scott of Lake Seminole. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, James Ronald Starling.
