Edith Marion Womack was born January 17, 1937, in Eldorendo, Ga., the daughter of Thomas Aubert Womack & Agna Vivian Powell Womack. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1954. In 1955, Edith married Julian O. Wheeler, and they made their home in Decatur County. Edith was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Dedicated to family, friends, and Bethany Baptist Church, Edith made it her business to be in the know. She loved to talk to most anyone about most anything. She shared words of wisdom, free advice, and lots of love to those she encountered. Edith’s strong will made it a challenge to convince her shenanigans were not always a good idea especially when the grandchildren were involved.
Survivors include her children, Alan Wheeler and Kaye Wheeler, both of Bainbridge, and Renee Hand and her husband, JR, of Eldorendo; her grandchildren, Amy & Michael, John & Heather, Amber, Lindsey & Mark, Aubrey & Addison, and McKenzie; her great-grandchildren, Addison, Ansley, Graydon, Knox, and Ripp; and her sister-in-law, Frances Justice. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Julian O. Wheeler.
