The Bainbridge Little Theater will soon open its doors for its seasonally inspired production of It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play this upcoming weekend.

The play is a beloved American holiday classic that comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast written by Joe Landry. Based on the book, The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern, many theatergoers will recognize the familiar story many grew up watching. But with the help of a talented ensemble, local actors and actresses will bring a few dozen characters to the stage this winter.

The story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life on one fateful Christmas Eve. Clarence, an angel sent from Heaven, is assigned to help George, a desperately frustrated businessman whose life is turned upside down by the despicable and scheming Mr. Potter. Clarence decides to help George by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed, and along the way teaches the audience some important lessons.

“There is something about the play’s timeless messages,” Kier Klepzig, the show’s director, said, “We each make such a difference in the lives of so many around us that there is value in hard work, loyalty and kindness, and that no one is a failure who has friends.”

Enjoying a performance on Bainbridge’s favorite stage will do more than offer an enjoyable evening out, with ticket sales being an integral part of the organization’s ability to serve the community. Ticket sales cover less than half of the theater’s annual costs, leaving them to depend on support from people who understand their vision to produce bold theater, develop more new plays, and enrich the lives of our community. Ticket sales help sustain the cause of truthful storytelling and make it accessible to all.

Seats are already on sale for this year’s holiday show. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased online at www.bainbridgelittletheatre.com or at the door. The show dates are December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at 7:30 PM. The doors will open at 7:00 PM. Sunday, December 4th is the last showing at 2:30 PM; the doors will open at 2:00 PM. This is a beautiful way to kick off the holiday season! The Premiere Party will immediately follow the show on Sunday, where patrons can enjoy light refreshments with the cast and crew!
