Change is difficult, but Gentiva Hospice is proud to have a name that will only better highlight its exceptional 4.8-star rated service in our community. Amy Braswell, Director of Operations for Gentiva Hospice, formerly known as Kindred Hospice, says, “We are very excited to announce that Kindred Hospice is now Gentiva Hospice. It’s a name that represents decades of exceptional care and a name that is recognized across the nation for providing only the best in home patient care. You can continue to count on the same team of compassionate nurses and certified nursing assistants to provide the same compassionate support you have for many years. It is an honor to be by your side and to continue to be a part of Bainbridge and surrounding communities. Our place is and always will be by your side.”

Gentiva Hospice appreciates the community service volunteers who contribute their time and talents to their organization’s mission.

One such volunteer is Judy Davis, known as “Grandma” to many, who recently sewed and donated several handmade blankets to hospice veterans. Davis is a proud grandmother to triplets, two of which, Gabe Parker and Seth Parker, are presently serving in the Marine Corps. And are stationed in North Carolina and Arizona, respectively. Bonnie Warren, the Volunteer Manager, explained that Davis wanted to do something to honor her grandsons and other men or women that have served our country. “It has meant so much to the veterans who received the blankets,” Warren said, “They tear up and you can tell they are just really moved by the gift. It really helps me appreciate these veterans’ sacrifices for all of us.”

Grandma, Judy Davis is a community volunteer. Several blankets were made for Gentiva Hospice.
