Dale Wayne Murray was born November 28, 1948, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Ed & Christine Heard Murray. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1967.  He married Angela Phillips, and they made their home on the family farm in Faceville.  Dale was a member of Sylvania United Methodist Church.

Storytelling was Dale’s gift. He loved to share tales of days gone by; the more time that passed, the better the details. Dale was never one to mince words; if he thought it, he said it. That coupled with his dry sense of humor made for interesting conversations especially if you were a newcomer to the group. Dale held strong opinions and was not easily moved from his stance. Farming was in his blood, and riding dirt roads checking fields & crops was where he found peace. The best ending to a productive day was Miller Lite at sunset on the farm. He had a heart of gold, always willing to share whatever he had. He enjoyed frying fish and gathering at the table with family and friends. “Daddy Dale” loved his “sweethearts” and “rugrat” and cherished time spent teaching them about the farm.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Angela P. Murray; his children, Jason & Christi Murray and Chris & Jamie Murray; his grandchildren, Chelsey & Tyler, Mercer Anne, Jacey Caroline, Emlyn Wray, and Chandler Warren; his mother, Christine H. Murray; and his siblings, Greg Murray, Sid Murray and his wife, April, and Lorraine Hamlin. Dale was preceded in death by his father, George Edward “Ed” Murray, and his sister, Sandra Christine “Sandie” Murray.
