The Bainbridge High School cross country team has seen a successful last few weeks for both their boys and girls teams as they prepare for the state meet this upcoming weekend. In the region meet in Albany, the Lady Cat runners took home first place in their region while the boys team also finished as region runner ups.

“Our Bainbridge High Cross Country Team should be proud of their performance at the Region Championships last week in Albany at Westover High School,” said assistant cross country coach Cindy Harrell. “Our very own Lady Cats finished first place overall in the region for the first time since 2007. In addition, our Bearcats finished Region 1-AAAA Runner-up in a highly competitive contest.”

The Bearcat runners have seen success all season especially with runners like Jahlae Sapp and Caden Godwin who consistently saw top five finishes throughout the season. Sapp saw a first place finish in Pelham in Sept. with a time of 18:16 and Godwin finished shortly after at number four with a time of 19:15.
