Patsy Little McCord, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend died peacefully on September 17, 2022, in her home in Canton, Georgia, at the age of 81, after battling a rare disease. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Jack McCord, as well as their two children, Susan McCord Williams (Bryan) Westminster, Colorado, Dodge McCord (Wendy) Indian Hills, Colorado, her sister Barbara Hoyle, Raleigh, North Carolina, and her nephews Scott, Bobby and Brian Hoyle, as well as five grandchildren: Solveig Williams, Ethan Williams, Max McCord, Luke McCord, and Amelia McCord.

Patsy was born to Aubrey and Helen Little in April 1941. After graduating from high school, she studied math education at Florida State University, where she met Jack in the FSU Marching Chiefs marching band as fellow saxophone players. They were married in 1963. Since then, they both have shared a lifetime of happy memories.

Patsy and Jack had a passion for travel, having lived in many cities in the United States and in Switzerland, where they saw the sights and soaked up the culture of countries throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Patsy always had a ready smile and never wanted to miss out on anything. She was the glue in the family, a rock, strong, sturdy, and compassionate.

Over the years, Patsy engaged in numerous hobbies and jobs. She was a successful math and music teacher, played tennis, was involved in swim meets, hiked, and skied in the Swiss Alps, made Halloween costumes from scratch, laughed readily and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. More recently, Patsy and Jack traveled America’s Great Loop, circumnavigating the eastern United States on their boat, and later across the country in their RV. Until her illness, Patsy was an enthusiastic joiner, always seeking out new activities and making friends.

Patsy will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, October 4, 2022, in the chapel of Roswell United Methodist Church, 814 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell, GA 30075. A reception will follow the service.
