Roy Eugene McMillan, Jr. was born April 22, 1969, in Donalsonville, the son of Roy Sr. and Janelle McConnell McMillan. He married Stacey Clark and spent all his life in Southwest Georgia. Smokey worked as a truck driver in the logging industry, most recently at Port City Timber. He was Baptist by faith.

He may have been 53 years old, but Smokey was still “Mama’s baby boy”. He worked hard and helped everyone he could. He was always worried about his family, and his grandchildren brought him more joy than you could imagine. Smokey was a US History buff, loved Elvis & Hank, Jr., and the Georgia Bulldogs. Race cars, building them and racing them, satisfied his need for speed. Smokey was always joking around, anticipating the next gathering (and what food would be served), singing, and traveling. He was up for a trip anywhere anytime except the beach…too much sand made his gears grind.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Stacey Clark McMillan; his children, Jeremy (Leeann) Busby of Bainbridge, Brittney (Jordan) Pollock of Thomasville, and Kelby (Maranda) McMillan also of Bainbridge; his mother, Janelle McConnell McMillan of Climax; his siblings, Brenda Palmer of Whigham, Cathy (Tim) Floyd, Roger (Nina) McMillan, and Karen (Jimmy) Holmes all of Climax; his grandchildren, Chloe, Brysen, Paisley, Natalie, and Aria; and a large extended family. Smokey was preceded in death by his father, Roy Eugene McMillan, Sr. and his brother, Gregory McMillan.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
