Bainbridge Native named Chief Cryptologic Technician

Lance R. Watson is a native of Bainbridge, Georgia and a 2005 graduate of Bainbridge High School. He enlisted in the Navy in October 2005 as a Yeoman Seaman Recruit. He graduated from Excelsior College in 2021 with a Business Administration and Management degree. In February 2022, he was selected for commission under the LDO/CWO program as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer.

His assignments include Fleet Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL, USS Farragut (DDG 99), Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific, United States Pacific Command, USS Spruance (DDG 99), and his current duty station, Hopper Information Services Center Norfolk Detach ent where he was selected for Chief Warrant Officer.

Personal accomplishments include Meritorious Advancement to Second Class Petty Officer, Four Time Battle ā€œEā€ Award recipient, two-time DISA Facility of the Year recipient, 2015 J6 Enlisted Person of the Year for Pacific Theatre, USS Spruance (DDG 99) 2016 Sailor of the Year, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Award Winner, and his 2017 selection to Chief Petty Officer.

His personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal
(Second Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Third Award), the Military Outstariding Volunteer Service Medal, among other awards and recognition. He has earned his Enlisted Information Warfare, Enlisted Surface Warfare, and Aviation Warfare specialist insignias. Chief Watson married to wife Tasha and have four daughters, Keirra (21), Keyona (20), Kemora (17), Ahryhanna (13), and one Son, Malyk ( 13). They reside in Norfolk, Virginia. He is the son of Lenorris and Jennifer Clary and Lonnie Watson.
