Dathalean Pollock Parrish, 88, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, May 13, 2022.

The funeral service will be held at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be at New Home Free Will Baptist No. 2 Church Cemetery.

Dathalean Pollock Parrish was born August 18, 1933, in Mitchell County, Ga., the daughter of Ruby Glover Pollock and William Thomas Pollock. She married Oliver Parrish in 1979. Dathalean retired making engine parts at Stanadyne in Tallahassee. She was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist No. 2 Church.

Dathalean was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed playing the keyboard, singing, and even had her own upholstery shop. She was a wonderful cook, but everyone loved her dressing and 16-layer chocolate cake the most. She loved listening to gospel music and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family was most important to her. Everyone who knew her felt her everlasting love and she loved without limits.

Survivors include her children, Rosa Dale McDonald of Valdosta, Ga., Oliver Wyndell Parrish (Mary Jean) of Thomasville, Ga., Lisa Walters (Frank) of Mt Gilead, OH, Charlotte Cook (Hank) of Colquitt, Ga., Susan Etherton (Jay) of Albany, Ga., Bobby Parrish (Debbie), Vickie Taylor (Zack) all of Bainbridge, Ga.; 9 loving grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 9 great great-grandchildren.

Dathalean was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Parrish; her parents; her sons, Gary Greene and Phillip Greene; brothers, Reny, Jimmy, Truman, Hubert, Willie Brown, Irvin “Monk”, and Wayman Pollock; and sisters, Irene Thornton “Aunt Sister” Lewis, Frances “Punk” Clark, and Burdine “Burt” Jackson.
