Hilda Louise Dawson Haire, age 76, of Attapulgus, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 28th, 2022, at Attapulgus Church of God with Rev. Ray Dawson, Rev. Phillip Kirkland, and Rev. Brad Gleeson officiating. Interment will be at Attapulgus Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe, social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Hilly was born Saturday, February 23, 1946, in Iron City, Georgia, the daughter of John Steven Dawson and Ruby Olene Dawson. She graduated from Attapulgus High School with the class of 1964. Hilly was known as Spider on the basketball court and to her fellow classmates. She was a longtime member of the Attapulgus Church of God. She played basketball and loved dancing, which included the camel walk. She was known for her spunky spirit and enjoyed hula hooping.

Survivors include her children, Dana Olene Haire (Randy) of Ochlocknee, Ga., Julian Neal Haire (Christina) of Climax, Ga., and Terry Brent Haire (Kelly) of Donalsonville, Ga.; grandchildren, Miranda Wynn, Marissa Wynn, Dawson Haire, Thomas Haire, and Brantley Haire; sister, Mildred Kirkland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hilly was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Terry Haire; parents; grandson, Chase Wynn; siblings, Billy Dawson, John Dawson, and Marie Harrell.
