The Bainbridge Bearcats JV team took on Blountstown last Monday, winning in a 12-2 victory.

The JV Bearcats started off hot, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning.

Parker Landrum singled before Nate Cannon was walked. Cain Worthington then stepped up to the plate, reaching on error by Blountstown’s shortstop, allowing Landrum to score.

Brooks Hines upped the score again, when he singled, scoring Cannon.

Coming off a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the JV Bearcats proved they couldn’t be beat in the top of 2nd inning, scoring an additional five runs.

Preston Graham started the inning off with a fly ball, reaching on an error by Blountstown’s left fielder.

Cameron Scott was then walked before Amarion Donaldson singled, scoring Graham.

Luke Griffin was up to bat next, singling. Landrum was then walked. He was followed up by Cannon, who was able to reach on a fly ball, allowing Donaldson to score.

With a 4-0 lead, Worthington laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring Griffin.

The inning wasn’t over yet.

Hines then singled on a fly ball, scoring both Landrum and Cannon, ending the inning 7-0.

The JV Bearcats scored another two runs in the top of the third inning.

Graham singled, following two strikeouts, before Scott was walked once again.

Daniel Reynolds was then hit by the pitch.

With bases loaded, Griffin stepped up to the plate singling, scoring both Graham and Scott.

Even with a 9-0 lead, the JV Bearcats continued to bring the heat, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth inning.

The inning started with Cannon being walked, followed by Worthington being walked as well.

Hines then hit a pop fly, but was able to reach on an error by Blountstown’s catcher.

Keenan Phillips then singled, scoring Cannon and Worthington, upping the score to 11-0.

Antavion Harris was up to bat next, where he hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Hines.

Blountstown finally found the board in the bottom of the fourth, when they were able to score two runs.

Hines was credited with the victory for the JV Bearcats. He allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Worthington and Cannon entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
