Martha Annette Darley was born September 22, 1935, in Hopeful, Ga., the daughter of Earnest & Johnnie Lee Harrell Darley. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She married Nathan Harrell and they made their home in Decatur County. Annette was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and Mary Martha Sunday School class.

Typical of a farm girl, Annette spent many hours in the pea patch. She loved picking and shelling peas as well as all the stories and life lessons that accompanied. She was a fantastic cook and made sure important family dinners came off without a hitch. Annette loved her family unconditionally and spent her life caring for them. Each one left her presence feeling like “the favorite”.

Survivors include her children, Nathan Harrell, Jr. (Benita), Durwin J. Harrell, Karen H. Moran (Jeff), and Gina H. Mitchell (Mark) all of Bainbridge; her sister, Joyce Culverson (Lawrence) also of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Nate & Tennille, Paul, Deidra, DJ & Cierra, Devin, Kasey & Ashley, Matt, Haylie Kaye, Daniel & Hailey, and Kalen; her great-grandchildren, Blake, Jacob, Lilly, Luke, Marty Grace, Matthew, Lela, and Dawson; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan S. Harrell, Sr.; her siblings, Lorene Barwick and Billy Darley; and her grandson, Clifton Jones.
