Frances Edwina Miller Amerison, age 68, of Iron City, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 21,2022, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Her funeral was held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM and visitation with the family was held prior to the service, from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, at New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church in Iron City.

Born in Donalsonville, Georgia, on June 29, 1953, Mrs. Amerison grew up in Iron City her entire life.  She was the daughter of the late Eddie Miller, Sr. and Myrtle Frances Barber Miller. She was happily married to her husband of 49 years, Mr. Robert Steve Amerison. They have one daughter, Susan Leigh Amerison Pope, of Statesboro, Georgia. Mrs. Amerison was a loyal member of New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church and a faithful employee of First State Bank of Donalsonville for 24 years.

She is survived by her husband Robert Steve Amerison, her daughter Susan Leigh Amerison Pope and her husband, Scott Pope of Statesboro, Georgia; her sister and best friend Patricia Miller Harrison and her husband Mac of Iron City, Georgia; a brother, Eddie Miller II and his wife Karen Brock Miller, who was like another sister to her, of Iron City, Randall and Denise Amerison of Jakin, Georgia; two grandsons, Benjamin Scott Pope and Stephen Miller Pope of Statesboro, Georgia; Ben’s girlfriend Erica Martin of Macon, Georgia; and her nieces Eve Trawick and Stephanie Thompson were like her “other” daughters, and Ryan Harrison and Dee Miller were like sons she never had. She was happily called “Aunt Weiner” and “Ween Ween” and “Wee Wee” and cherished these titles. She also enjoyed all of their children as her second set of grandchildren. These include Payson Trawick, Daryn Trawick, Arysen Trawick, Avin Harrison, Whit Harrison, Bo Harrison, Libby Harrison, McCall Thompson, Myler Thompson, Mason Thompson and Eddie Miller IV(IV), and Wiley Frances Miller.
