Barbara Ann Hendricks, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at her home in Cairo, Georgia, surrounded by her family.  Services for Mrs. Hendricks will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.  Rev. Robbie Jenkins and Rev. Mark Hendricks will officiate.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Jeremy Hendricks, Jamison Hendricks, Trey Ansley, Ethan L. Nunn, Jayden Slyer and Cameron Bearden will serve as pallbearers.   The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:30.

Barbara Ann Brown was born January 2, 1937, in Pensacola, Florida, to Thomas Brown and Reba Estelle McKee Brown Parker who have preceded her in death.  She married the love of her life, Rev. Jere Lanier Hendricks.  Jere, who served as Pastor of Eastside Baptist Church from 1984 until 1988, also preceded her in death

Mrs. Hendricks is survived by her children Karla Renee Dupree (Gary), Mark R. Hendricks (Elizabeth), Suzanne Janine Hendricks Nunn (Michael), and Kimberly Denise Ansley (Wayman); her grandchildren Allison Tidwell (Jay), Ashley Brannon (Stephen), Bethany Dupree (Destin), Noel Russell Cura (Daniel), Camille Renee Dupree; Jeremy Hendricks (Crystal); Jamison Hendricks (Raafi); Kelsey Hendricks, Christopher Nunn, Meagan Bearden (Cameron), Sabrina Pelham (Ryan), Ethan L. Nunn, Natalie Grace Nunn, and Trey Ansley (Brooklin). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Chloe, Michael, Palmer, River, Avery, Rhett, Dane, Liam, Miguel, Jayden, Charli, Mey, Madalyn, Xander, Adaleine, Grayson, Leila, Landon, Oliver, Brendan, Rowan, and Sarah Grace, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Hendricks was also blessed to have two loving caregivers, Dorothy and Lillie, to whom the family expresses their gratitude.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hendricks was preceded in death by her sisters, Suzette Parker and Peggy Krause; her brother, Howard Brown; and her step-father, Homer Parker.

Barbara loved her Lord and Savior with all of her being and found her greatest expression of that love through music and teaching her children to love Him the same.  She adored her husband and loved being a pastor’s wife and serving alongside him in ministry. She loved her children and their families more than words could express, but this love was always shown through her actions and generous spirit. She will be remembered and missed by all of those she loved so well in life.
